I wish I had gone to Laugardalslaug every day that I was in Iceland! The heated whirlpools with strong massaging jets were outstanding. A day pass costs only 8 US dollars (cheaper than a beer there) and a locker and key are included. This seems to be the place that the locals prefer, so it's an interesting place to take... More

I went here this evening and it was -4 outside and the pool was 28 degrees. The pool didn't seem that hot as the outside was so cold. It was dark outside and with the steam off the pool it's hard to see. It was 8.50 Euro for as long as you wanted in the pool. Be great if you... More

The thermal pool of Iceland are the equivalent of the Roman spa! This is the largest in Iceland, but not the best. For the unique location, could be also the best indeed. It is good for swimming indoor and outdoor too. Not so good for saunas and idro massages. It needs to be upgraded in many aspects and renovated.

First of all, let me just say that I'm a compulsive swimmer. I swim several miles a week because I NEED TO. It makes me feel healthy and grounded. So, when I travel, I look for the local pool especially if it is a particularly good one. The laugardalslaug pool is a particularly good one. How many places have a... More

Laugardalslaug is big. With a 100m long outside swimming pool, 100x25m indoor one (mostly for swimmers), variety of hot tubs and a big waterslide. It is good for older kids to play but no warm indoor pool for toddlers. I like the salt pot and the sauna that looks like a spaceship on the inside. It is big and can... More

This was the second public pool we visited in Reykjavik. It’s further away from downtown, the other was in walking distance, and this one the 5 in our party (2 adults, 2 teenagers and a 4yr old) took a taxi. We went around 4:30 and the hot tubs were quite busy but not too busy that we didn’t enjoy ourselves.... More

Reykjivak was busier in January than I expected or had been led to believe. I thought I could book Blue Lagoon when I got there - wrong!! Fully booked for the 5 days we were there. Keen to experience the natural hot pools we went to one of the places the locals frequent- Laugardalslaug. Firstly we walked there from our... More

It was clean and you were asked to show naked and the lady in the changing room will tell you if your not washing thouroughly! It was nice to visit because we were unable to visit the blue lagoon bit ive heard its just as... More

This is the largest pool in Reykjavik but it was just fine. The slide was fun but there was only one hot tub so it was pretty crowded. Great hot dog stand outside the pool though!!
