Domus Cathedral is a place where one may have some quiet time meditating and praying. If you're not religious you anyway may enter and observe typical Icelandic church as part of local culture. There're also organ concerts being given from time to time.

This is worth a look. A visit to the tower is a must see. Great organ and a peaceful retreat. Not overdone on religious tack. All churches should be like this.

I wasn't able to go inside the church but took some lovely shots from the outside. The bell rings at certain times and it is a lovely sound.

This is a beautiful church with a spectacular organ (Bach concerts every Tuesday evening). To me, it gave great insight into Iceland since it is by most standards a very modest church in size and appointment, but it is the historic national cathedral of this small country. It is next to the parliament building, so easy to stop in.

We wandered in because the door was open, and we're glad that we did. This church / cathedral has a lovely feeling to it. It's not very large or ornate but was better for this. Make sure you go upstairs and check out the rally twee Sunday school room.

This cathedral was consecrated in 1796. Being a resident in Southern New England, I could imagine this church standing proudly among the Colonial Period buildings strewn across New England, and the Northeastern United States. It's a quaint well-kept church with a simple style that provides inner peace when you walk up its main aisle or look to its wooden rafters... More

Neat but uninspiring church close to a pleasant park. No bells and smells here. However, the two classic fire trucks parked outside on my visit made for good pictures.

The church hosts free Tuesday evening piano concerts by classical pianist Ólafur Elíasson who performs selections from J.S. Bach's Well Tempered Clavier. The church is a wonderful venue, contemplative, peaceful, elegantly sparse; wonderful place to listen to music.

If you walk down the hill from Hallgrimskirkja to the "old town" near the parliament you might pass by this unassuming wooden structure that on closer look is obviously a church. This church is the cathedral. Wooden as are the stave churches but th8is is no stave church. Inside it is a beautiful little church with interesting seating and a... More

The prettiest cathedral I have ever been to visit - while and bleached inside and green and white outside; situated in a side street not far from the main town thoroughfare and really, really well kept and well loved.
