An architecturally interesting church, set in Austurvollur park facing the pond. It was built at the time when it was known that Rekjavik would be the capital of Iceland.

This little church is worth a stop if you are walking by. It is not grand by any means and not architecturally brilliant. It is, however, a taste of Iceland past and that merits a moment of your time. I wouldn't go out of my...More

Our tour took us here in the old part of town. It is a very beautiful cathedral. Interior is more basic in keeping with the Lutherans.

Lovely local cathedral. Interesting architecture and quite photogenic. Worth a visit. We had about 25 minutes here.

The interior is beautiful and quite serene. A true house of worship, in my opinion. Worth a visit while you are in the city.

We visited this church near city hall as we happen to be passing by. The church is pretty in its somewhat austere way. Clearly designed as a house of worship rather than as a museum.

We happened to stop in during choir practice, which was nice. The church is lovely and is just a nice place to stop.

A church you just have to see because of its size and location right in the center of Reykjavik. An amazing building that safeguards the values of the people

This is a large cathedral with soaring ceilings, and a HUGE pipe organ. There is no concert or performance schedule during the summer (apparently) so go in the morning for the service (which might have the organ) or often at around 10a.
