About ten minutes walk from the Town centre this is a must visit in the city. Best done in daylight as there are super views from the tower

The church design is unique. It is inside unsophisticated. Organs look awesome - unfortunately, I did not hear organ music. It is still worth to visit.

Enjoyed the walk through the chapel and the access to the steeple (with a small cost) was outstanding - you can view the entire city from there!!!!

If you are in Reykjavik, pass by here as well. An old nice church, a lot different than the other big one.

Just on the edge of the town centre, and next to the government offices, overlooking pretty gardens, this church is an essential part of the history of Reykjavik. Simple interior and some lovely sculpture work on the font(?) as well as nice woodwork. Diagonally across from the church, behind the government building is a high-walled garden and a memorial to... The Domkirkjan is in the centre of town close to Parliament and the City Hall. Aesthetically it is very simple and unadorned. A couple of minutes quiet reflection inside will suffice.

Pretty, simple city church in downtown. We had the extra benefit that they were doing a simple piano recital that nite (Bach). Quite nice in that setting.

A stop on our cruise ship panoramic excursion, the building cane be seen for miles around. Even if you are not much of a believer, the architecture, design and construction of the building will amaze you. A step inside and the organ is incredible. I only had a few minutes so didn't get to hear it being played as such,... More

I learned about this church as part of the free walking tour of the area. It was originally built in the 18th century to accommodate all the residents of the area. Mass is still held there on Sundays and the doors are usually opened so that visitors and worshipers can enter.

Try to go there when the organist is playing as this is a great experience. Views from top are also great.
