The strong waves, the unusual rock formations, the mysterious cave, the black sand: take some time just to admire them. And remember: people have died taking selfies too close to the waves on that beach!

Visit at late evening, you hardly find people there and will have the beach all for yourself. I had a nice time there. Very windy though

Fascinating black sand beach is another nice stop when driving through Vik. You can see very interesting formations and watch sea birds here.

nice beach, a bit crowded and too cold to swim. plus it is dangerous. didn't see puffuns, but that was timing.

I was overcome with emotion after leaving the beach. Albeit touristy, the natural beauty of these basalt columns are quite spectacular!

First off there are washrooms and a coffee shop there! WAS MOST INTERESTING AND PHOTO WORTHY!. Stop on the way to Vik!

We were there in early September 2016 and seeing the northern lights was a bit 'hit and miss'. In the end we were lucky. I see that another contributor has suggested using Google maps to measure distance. That's a good idea... More

Hi, Yes a small car would be ok. The roads are very good and easy to drive. You wont have any problems. There is a parking area on the beach, you need to park your car there and then walk to the beach which is about 2... More
