A bit busy and crowded, but that is understandable. Nice spot to get into the sea. Enjoyed a quieter time on the rocky beach a bit further along.

Loungers, umbrellas, even shower or changing cabin are paid. The sand was very hot, so you did not bend on the towel.

Great natural beach with sand, fantastic colorless, clean and warm sea water. Protected from the wins by the valley, it worth’s the 300 or more steps you will have to climb back. Don’t missed, assure you go there middle of the morning on weekday to...More

Good sand. In January less people with volleyball field and enough space for an (illegal) football match.

Dark sand beach that is a small slice of paradise... especially the clean blue water. Is tricky to get there... but it's worth the sweat. Avoid eating in the bar... get a few drinks, you will need to climb back.

Rather an industrial area. Pebbly beach leading to a dock. Good for a walk but I don't think I'd recommend it for children

Nice golden sandy beach where my children had chance to swim and play in the sea. Madeira is amazing, but not full with quality beaches. It was the best of all what we seen. Changing area, shower, restaurants, sunchairs, parasols around. Spent a good few...More

The beach itself was a rugged rock beach. However the area you would call the prominade was full of local restaurants there were very few visitors o ly locals. The beach had views over a commercial harbour.
