There are only 1,741 minor basilicas in the whole world so the small island of Gozo is very blest to have 5 of them. St George's is very elaborately decorated with lots of gold and our tour guide says it is known locally as the golden church. It is right in the heart of Victoria which gives it a very... More

Not quite as stunning as St John's Co in Valletta, nevertheless well worth a visit if in Victoria. It is free and in the centre of things. Beautifully ornate and in the Baroque style common to many of the churches/cathedrals in the region. Pop in for 10-15 minutescand admire the art work. All good.

This is a nice church situated in St. George square in Victoria. The church from the inside is very big and spacious. It's worth it to stop and visit this church when visiting Gozo.

The church and the square in front of it are truly beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. The main front door of the church is also beautifully adorned and truly rich in details.

This church looks relatively simple outside but is beautiful and intricate inside. Lovely decorative detailing & artwork make this church inside a must-see.

This church has amazing paintings, dome and windows. It's free to get in and wonderfully peaceful to sit for a bit.

St George's Basilica lies right in the heart of Victoria 'old town' surrounded by a maze of quaint little streets and ally ways. It stands in a beautiful square from where one can see the glory of the exterior and the wonderful bronze ornate door of the church. It is definitely worth entering to view the interior with its numerous... More
