I had the chance to hear two noontime performances here, both of opera singers accompanied by a pianist. The oratory is small, but the acoustics are great, and the location--right on Republic Street in Valletta--is very convenient. 5 euros for a 45 minute or so...More

Very peaceful and well looked after. When I went to sit and pray, a lady was carefully straightening chairs and generally making the place look tidy and cared for. I liked being there

This small church located right in the heart of Valletta just off the main street. It is somewhat difficult to recognize unless you are looking for it. It is shown on some city maps. The inside is gorgeous and the altars and statues are steeped...More

So you could have missed it, but lovely inside. Quiet and calm. Worth a quick stop and some moments of reflection. Interesting history

The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is a truly beautiful church in the centre of Valletta. Mass is celebrated here daily and it is a beautiful service.

This church is quite lovely, with its lavender walls and gold trim and paintings on the ceiling. It is more subdued than St. John's but has its own beauty and is worth seeing.

On Tuesdays there are concerts at the Oratory of St Francis on the main street in Valetta. This is an intimate venue for lovely music. We enjoyed a performance by the soprano Marita Bezzina and pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa. It was only 8 euro, with...More

In any other city this place would stand out, but in Valetta it is overshadowed a bit by the other churches. Undeservedly so as it is well worth a visit for its quiet beauty. We visited partly for a lunchtime recital (which was terrific) and...More

We attended a lunchtime piano recital which was given by Romona Zammit Formosa who played a beautiful selection of music. The recitals usually last about 50 minute and are fund raising events in aid of St. Francis Church.
