Although it had many interesting artefacts, there was very little information available on them (next to no signs and no audio guide as was the case in many other nearby museums)
As it’s only one room and no information it takes maybe 10 mins to see everything.
To be very honest it felt rather expensive for what it was at €6 per person.
The palace is closed for 2 years for restoration, I would not recommend going just for the armoury.

The main palace was closed off during the period I visited. No issues, I honestly was there for the weaponry and armourcraft!
Really interesting information about the production of armours and weapons during the period of each item shown: you get to learn about known and unknown craftsmen and a bit of related history. The details of the armous and especially the shoulder plates and how some of the pieces were attached to the main parts - an eye candy!
I enjoyed the arrangement and appreciated the big fans hah!
The security check includes temperature check (non-invasive on the wrist with a digital no-touch thermometre). No cash payments, because the people at the museum prefer to handle less money by hand.

one of the first buildings in the new city of Valletta founded by Grand Master Jean de Valette in 1566. For 20 euros you can have access to the huge amour collection of the time as Well as the grand palace, its huge Rooms, paintings , tapisseries and the history behind every little object that is exposed. Infortunately, when we got there on March 2nd, the place was under renovation but de were not informed of the inconvinience but after we bought the tickets and got inside. You can imagine our disappointment .

When booking to go to Malta, this was one of the places we wanted to see most. We were told refurbishments were going on , which we thought that is ok. Unfortunately it is closed completely apart from the armoury and having recently visited the museum in the uk with a very large armoury section we passed. So I would say, dont visit this year if you want to see what is consistently classed as the number 1 destination to see when visiting Malta

The armoury has an impressive collection of weaponry covering 1500 years of history. Nice collection of old cannons, even though functional cannons are positioned around the city in various locations. Interesting to see the evolution of long guns in the collection.

Nice to visit this with kids and teenagers, however will not be a place that will keep them busy for hours.
Nice to see the detailed pieces, harnesses, guns, bows, it is like a walk through history (warfare). Not always nice to see so many weapons but it will give you a good impression of these ages and the way they were fighting and protecting themselves.

Displays of a wide range of armor and weapons from swords to muskets along with very good descriptions of all. We visited during the heat of August and the only cooling was provided by fans. Imagine wearing a full suit of plate in that heat in the sun!

This is a great place to visit in Valletta. The palace staterooms are spectacular, with lots of art, tapestries and history to explore; and the attached museum and armoury have some amazing armour and weapons exhibits. Well worth the time, and they provide you with an audio tour as part of your admission price.

Fascinating display of arms and armour through the centuries. Generally all in excellent condition and including some extremely rare pieces. According to my husband, who finds such collections very interesting, this is one of the best he's ever seen; ahead of the collection is Salzburg. If you're at all interested in this type of thing, this is a must seen for you.
