Situated on a hill whereby one has to take a ski lift to get there or take a steep and winding road to the top. It is well maintained and has beautiful views from the top looking into the valley. Besides, its ancestry is connected...More

Had an amazing day here recently. No tourists and completely unspoiled. Really easy to get to. We got the train for the centre to Ettelbruck, and then the bus 570 to Vianden. Buses are free in Luxembourg at the weekends. Took under and hour and...More

Absolutely dominates the skyline of the pretty village of Vianden & although it has been almost totally rebuilt from ruins it gives the impression of having been there forever Get audio guide if you wish to appreciate the interior displays

Had we known there was an English map or guide or something, we would have purchased it. Pretty much had no idea what we were looking at the whole time we were there. Still pretty to walk around and see though.

What a great place, beautifull old Castle which is related to the Dutch Royalties. You can walk there by your self or use a electronical guide. Just great place, kids can have a nice time of pleasure.

Did the audio tour for this magnificent place. Beautiful scenery, nice little hike to and from the castle. Really enjoyed Luxembourg and this part of the country.

Vianden castle dominates the skyline as you enter Vianden. Perched above the town it looks almost like a fairytale castle. Entry was a very reasonable 7 euros, and this included a leaflet guiding you round a circular tour of the various rooms. The whole castle...More

I think 2h is enough, including 20mn for a coffee inside. You won't spend more than 3h there in any case.

Hi it's a steep climb to get to the doors and there are many steps to be negotiated in the castle but it's well worth a visit! I would leave the buggy at the paying desk on the way in. Hope this helps.
