Princess Charlotte statute is the main feature in this small square. It’s located in the heart of the old town area of Luxembourg.

This is a small plaza area near downtown Luxembourg, an easy walk from the Place d'Armes. The most notable feature is a statue of Princess Charlotte. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's pretty easy to walk through it on our way between say the Place d'Armes and the Cathedral of Notre Dame, so it's a nice stop for a few minutes if you're nearby.

Cool little square with a bunch of unique and cool statues and artwork. Nothing spectacular, but still pretty cool to wonder around.

Luxembourg City is a very walkable city. In the heart of the old town, this square is pleasant. Enjoy the sculptures.

Nice little place in the heart of Luxembourg, in the centre is a statue of Grand Duchess
Charlotte (1896-1985); and who became a symbol of independence of Luxembourg during the II war 1940-45. On april 1945 Charlotte returned home to Luxembourg to a rapturous welcome from her people.
Behind the statue, in the past time was the abbey Clairefontaine,
today, there are ministerial offices, secretary of the state;
before, was there my school Ste. Sophie, the school is now on an other place.

Once you walk old town of Luxembourg - or Ville Haute if you like you most likely will get to this square an in the Clairefontaine square you will find the statue of the grand Duchess Charlotte - one of the landmarks of Luxembourg.
Also from this square you have several options to continue your walk towards:
- city museum - 5 min walking
- place Guillaume II - 3 min walks.
- Palace of the Grand Dukes of Luxembourg - 5 min walking
this just to mention a few.
Also there are restaurants in walking distance if you feel like grabbing a bite.
Overall if you are walking through Ville Haute it is worth stopping in this square to take a few pictures and you can continue your walk. (its free of charge, accessible from several directions and also parking is available in like 5-8 min walking distance).

We found Clairefontaine Square to be a peaceful, quiet and relaxing area of Luxembourg City. It is of course home to one of Luxembourg's famous statues, the Grand Duchess Charlotte. At the other side of the square is a less conventional sculpture of a human, which at first glance looks like it has been sculpted out of wood, but on closer inspection it is actually made from metal. Other than that there is not a great deal going on in the paved square, but we did find it a peaceful haven.
The Notre-Dame Cathedral is nearby.
