When Famagusta was surrounded with walls there were 2 Gates that were in use to enter the walled city. One was called Ravelin and the other one Sea Gate.These places are one of the tourist attractions nowadays.

Although no longer intact, the building was undergoing renovations but it is still a most impressive sight.

The oild sea gate can't really be missed when you visit Famagusta and although you can't go through the gate (it's all fenced off), you can climb the steps to the top and get some good views. You can look down into the old port...More

Worth a look and a climb up the steps for great views of the city, harbour and surrounding area. You can see the Venetian lions here.

An antique building on the shore of Famagusta . You reach it when going along the old walls . Interesting architecture and decorations. Recommended.
