I didn’t expect this to be so interesting, I was amazed, extremely old shipwreck and it’s contents on display set with a very old castle. There is a cafe in the centre which was very welcomed. Good trip!!

This is one of the main exhibits within the castle and it is well worth visiting. The craft was wrecked off the island back in the mists of time and the exhibits from the crew's work and lives are very interesting.

Spend some time reading all the information about this wreck. I just wonder what else lies under the seas around Kyrenia - there must be more.

We did this as part of the castle tour, it was very interesting and not expensive to get into. The entry to the castle covers all other features.

We visited this sad little museum/exhibit with Turkish friends from Istanbul. It is indeed a very ancient shipwreck, recovered from the seabed outside Kyrenia Harbour by amateur divers. It has been installed in an air-conditioned/climate controlled room in Kyrenia/Girne Castle, and then sadly, abandoned. Today...More

Fascinating wreck likely sunk by pirates. Don't miss the curse tablet intended to keep the ship at the bottom of the sea. Lots of cargo vessels, etc on display.

Well worth a visit. A most comprehensive collection of goods retrieved from the depths with this ancient trading vessel. From amphorae to thousands of almonds, and numbers of mill stones used as ballast.

Found this museum very interesting and lots of information was in English too. This was located in the grounds of the castle so not far to travel.

The shipwreck museum is within the castle. Fairly small but has all exhibits with an English text. The main exhibition is the remains of the shipwreck but there are lots of other exhibits from on board and further explanations on the route of the boat....More

What one sees are the skeletal remains of a Mediterranean ship that sailed about 3000 years ago. There are intact amphorae that the ship carried, fossilized almonds found in an amphora, and lead weights used in the ship's rigging.
