Enjoyable day spent scrambling around an ancient fortress. You do need to be fairly fit, or take the steps slowly, there are lots! We loved the view, once at the top. Cost about 8 lira each person

Its a fantastic place to visit. At a cost of 200 TL (about £27.50) for a taxi we had a very relaxed visit. The taxi was booked through the hotel and took us and came back for us 2 and a half hours later. We...More

Be warned, you need to take a diversion up the dual carriageway and back down as the main road is under major repair. We didn’t quite make it to the top but the views were stunning making the effort worthwhile. We stopped for a lemonade...More

We visited in October (2018), and intentionally went on a cloudy day because of many reviews stressing overwhelming heat and a difficult climb. We lost the opportunity to see all the way to Turkey because of clouds, but the tradeoff was totally worth it because...More

Amazing place. Fantastic views over Kyrenia. Bit of a climb to each of the three levels (level 2 to 3 tricky if less able bodied).

Stunning castle with amazing views from the top - it's quite a climb but well worth it - best to go in the morning before it gets too hot, and take plenty of water.

We visited St. Hilarion in early October 2018 it is an absolute must to see if you are able to. There are a lot of stairs to reach the top so it's a good idea to bring water and don't rush. There is a restaurant...More

This castle is well worth a visit, it’s a lot of walking and steps but the views are amazing. Particularly from the “peak”, 732m above sea level with views over Kyrenia and around the mountains

A magical climbing experience through steep steps! As you get higher the view becomes more spectacular! No wonder this castle gave inspiration to Disney! Lots to see during the breaks! Carry your own bottle water and light snacks! A banana always helps! Great work out!

Yes, there is a carpark with toilets and a small café. But be prepared for a long uphill walk.
