What truly OUTSTANDING views await you after the arduous journey to the summit. Have to say that my female passengers were frightened as we climbed to the summit along a one way track with major drop offs and no passing places should you meet an...More

Having read various reviews about the road access and the climb up to the top of the castle, I was intrigued to experience it for myself. We approached the castle from the main road that leads from Kyrenia over the mountains via the Besparmak mountain...More

I read about this place and decided to go there. I was scared when i read the reviews about how narrow the road to the castle but it was not as bad as i expected. There is some space for parking when you reach there....More

There is not much to see of the castle but the panoramic view is magnificent. The climb up is quite a work out. Health and safety have not been here, perhaps as well.

This was our favourite place in North Cyprus. Very few people here and stunning views. The drive from the west was a bit difficult a we got lost a couple of times but although it is not as complete as St Hileron, we thought the...More

We went here after a round of golf so it was getting late in the day. We did find the road to it easily which for northern Cyprus was amazing. There is a cafe bar at the turn off looked dry authentic wooden bar and...More

Despite reading the earlier reviews of this site we were not prepared for the extreme conditions of the very scary narrow and winding road, the lack of signage going to the Buffavento Castle and the lack of information at the carport before ascending the stairs....More

We were almost put off by previous reviews which said it was really strenuous. It's definitely not for the totally unfit, but we managed it no problem, as did our two teenage girls. The views from the top are spectacular; it must be one of...More

This is the highest and steepest of the three crusader castles. There are well over 200 steps to climb. Guidebooks state that the path is a poor one but in fact the path was recently relaid in cement and is quite easy for those without...More

Hi It will be a tough climb for a fit person with a crutch. Also make sure your hire car is in good condition to even get to the car park. It's a dirt track with plenty of hair-pin bends, and no Armco. You need a head for... More
