Very closed to Paphow but it seems like you are far away. Lovely, peaceful and the smell of the forest was amazing. Very good to see a working monastery.

From Phafos you drive up to the monastery at the foot of the mountain. It’s a quite large area beautifully located. It was first build in 1300 by the eremite nefytos how also was a writer. He carved a cave that was the first monastery.

Arrived very early and it was very peaceful the smell of the forest was amazing. Very good to see a working monastery. After leaving we meandered down through the villages back to the beach. A very chilled day out

If you hire a car, its a great coffee break as you are passing. There is a monastery founded on the basis of a small fresco'd cave - complete with coffin Beautifully manicured gardens and buildings.

Somewhere we visit often during our many visits to Cyprus, particularly to show the monastery to friends. Nice cafe nearby to relax afterwards.

I believe so since the monastery is now virtually in the outskirts of Paphos town.
