Fab resort. Massive snow falls this year. Scenic, awesome actually. People friendly and helpful. We got a bus from airport. About 28€ per person each way. Busy with a great atmosphere in the resort

This was our third visit to Obertauern but the first time at Christmas. We decided to visit Obertauern due to the snow sure conditions and it being high by Austrian standards. We weren’t disappointed as we had fresh snow for the first 3 days which...More

Great snow and good lifts. Great for skiing! Recommend for skiing, would do research first so you know the whereabouts for the area, but would definitely return!

Typical Austrian ski resort where blues have red bits and reds have black bits and you really need to be brave to take on a black! The circuits are not really possible if you're not confident on a really hard red slope or willing to...More

Huge selection of runs for beginners and all well connected so you can explore multiple mountains and still ski back to your hotel.

Compact ski resort with great facilities. Easy to get around and slopes beautifully prepared with modern lifts. Come at the start of season and avoid the crowds.

Obertauern is a huge ski resort with a variety of slopes to offer. However, sometimes there are quite long parts in between that are not that well connected and where you have to walk. Gamsleiten 2 is absolutely no slope for beginners and people that...More

This is a very nice ski area, situated in a wide valley, where you have slopes on both sides of the main road, with ski paths crossing over the main road. There are a huge variety of slopes, but the area is largely of intermediate...More

Obertauern is a bit too popular with big groups. 30 or so people skiing together is not a good idea, causing bottlenecks on the slopes, at the ticket office and creating lift queues. They would also do well to consider opening times - in late...More

Approx. 3,5 hours driving highway (Autobahn). We spend nice time in Alpenhotel Tauernkoenig. They even have very nice restaurant for dinners. Location is perfect - next to lifts and slopes.
