The Patscherkofel cable car ride in Innsbruck was truly one of the best experiences and uses of our time while in Innsbruck. Innsbruck is one of those European towns where there is literally so much to do that it becomes difficult to choose how to use the limited amount of time that most of us have available to us. I... Skiing in Patscherkofel and just looking and gazing while relaxing or resting after a ski run would make feel relax looking at this view

This was not very expensive compared to some cable cars so we took advantage of the lack of skiers queuing and went up for a look at the superb view over Innsbruck and the Inn valley. It was indeed worth the ride and it looks as if there would be great hiking in the summer too.

We aren't hikers, so we took the rides to the "halfway point" with the restaurant & views. First, everyone gave us different prices - €27 for adults, if over 61 ask for a discount. . It is about €2 less. Great views during the rides. When you get there, get a drink & enjoy the view. You don't often get... More

Patscherkofel is one of the best places to take in the marvelous views of Innsbruck, Inn valley and the surrounding mountainranges. If you want to take a hike at the "Zirbenweg" keep some things in mind: Though it might be warm in the valley, up on the mountain it´s probably cold(er) and windy, so choose your clothing accordingly (long trousers,... Spent a super few hours at the top of the Patscherkofel, at the Schutzhaus sun terrace restaurant. Able to sit in the sun, drinking Glühwein and eating local food, well cooked and plenty of it, while watching the ski and snowboard action. Not at all busy mid March, so very pleasant for those taking part as well as those watching.... More

A short bus trip from town brings you to a cable car station and the small village if Igls. You can take the hike or cable car up. Best walks start at the top station. You can walk to two different mountain huts or eat at the old stone house above the station. Try to avoid the modern resturant right... More

I love the Alps and to go up into the mountains by cable-cars. And this little garden high above Innsbruck was a paradise of peace and beauty. I wish I could go there every week and relax.
