You can visit the gardens and see the gloriette for free, but for amazing views of the palace, gardens and city, buy the ticket that gives access to its rooftop terrace.

A perfect way to take a break from walking around the beautiful expansive grounds of Schönbrunn Palace. We usually call in for a cold drink and a coffee so you don’t have to have an expensive meal there to enjoy the beautiful ambiance and location....More

Nice veiw from the top! Worth the walk or better yet take the train. There is a resturant but we did not partake. Lots of filks on the grass just sitting and sunning!

It's worth the walk up to the Gloriette as there is a terrific view over the palace and Vienna. Not sure if it's worth paying for admission as it just gives you access to the balcony and the view is exactly the same. There is...More

This restaurant is located in one of the most picturesque places in Vienna, Schoenbrunn Palace grounds. It offers open buffet packages and A La Carte too. We just dropped in for a cuppa coffee and desserts in the morning. The Melange was very good, while...More

Make sure you include this in your visit to Vienna. Take the little land train to avoid a very long walk. Spectacular views of Vienna.

I did not think the walk up was that difficult. We had a private tour and driver that got us fairly close to start so maybe that was our advantage. He dropped us off with our tour guide at the public parking lot just southwest...More

Beautiful and stop for the panoramic view of not only the gardens and palace but the entire city. Easily accessible with the HOHO train as it is a steep climb from the gardens especially during the summers. It has a cafe too.

No, you cannot walk around the gardens or up the hill 24/7. There are opening and closing hours for the park as well. Go to their site and you can see what the working hours are, all depends on the season. The parks are free.
