If you plan on bringing back candy for friends and family from Vienna -- a place known for its sweets, chocolates, and desserts -- you must go here. This was highly recommended in our travel guides and a little hard to find as it has a small storefront that is easy to miss, even if it is on a busy... More

I can't say enough about this heavenly place! The ladies in this shop are so friendly and outgoing, making your visit and purchases so worth while! We kept going back and buying more lovely little boxes and packages of chocolates as gifts. The ladies would take time to wrap each gift for us. The little chocolates are hand-made and so... More

Fine chocolate worked into the most delicious pralines (I especially reccomand the kirsch and champagne variety) wraped in an exquisite packaging will win you the undying gratitude of any lucky receiver of such gift. Perfection though comes with its rightful (quite high price).

Makes a great unique gift! Chocolates are good, but the packaging is amazing! Pricey, but the recipient was floored, so worth it :)

Altmann & Kühne is an Austrian institution, which has been selling the most delicious and pretty little pralines for over a century. To prepare you for your shopping experience: You will first choose a container. They come in whimsical patterns and numerous shapes, such as a petite sewing box, a tiny treasure chest, a miniature set of drawers and so... More

I have been coming to this shop for years. I adore the micro Lilliputian chocolates and the beautiful boxes they create to put them in. My favorites are the bureaus and two story boxes. The chocolates are full of flavor, centers are amazing. I always come here no matter what.

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
