It is a popular place for tourists in the center of the city and as expected has many shops of well-known brands and some not so well known. This area used to have more charm but is now more commercial and has lost something.

Kaerntnestrasse is a long a rather wide pedestrian street surrounded by very beautiful buildings (either original or very sympathetically built) full of High Street brands! I walked the full length and frankly cannot find any reason to go back to it.

Kaerntnerstrasse is a very famous walking/shopping street in all of vienna. Shops in Kaerntnerstrasse vary from really high-end shops to lower end shops. The street has fine looking buildings and is nice for just a walk as well.
