Schönbrunn palace on a foggy day in winter! Massive impressive buildings and gardens to look round. Unfortunately for us it was really foggy and couldn't see the full beauty of everything. A great place to walk about (free) and while away easily a good few...More

My wife & I visited here on a Tuesday in November and the weather was incredible, clear blue sky with a temperature of about 14 degrees. This place reminded us of Central Park in New York. We missed the Palace Maze by 2 days which...More

This is a huge palace and the gardens are enormous. I’d say it’s a must in Vienna. Short train ride as well. I would recommend getting there early to avoid crowds. We got there just before opening and literally had the place to ourselves. No...More

The palace itself is really nice and there is a lot of information. However, the best part for me was the gardens.

We didn't go inside, but opted to visit the gardens. We visited on a Saturday and were hoping the Christmas Market would be open (it wasn't). The problem is, despite the good weather, this is not the season to visit. The gardens were stark without...More

This is the summer residence of the Habsburg family. The palace, grounds and gardens are massive but everything is beautiful, a must see if in Vienna, words cannot describe it

A must see when in Vienna. Stunning insight into past Austrian royalty. Vast gardens which are free to wander. Give yourself a few hours to make the most of your visit.

Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow
of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has
interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence
and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the
other half to discover the secret charms of this posh
residential neighbourhood. Sneak out of the gardens at
Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down
