We dined here on the way to the symphony at the suggestion of our host. We are two couples visiting Vienna for a couple days. We liked where we were seated in a nice lovely booth in the corner. The owner seemed nice enough. We started with beers. My friend Iwona and I ordered the three-meat lasagna special and it... More

We heard this place was good for Wiener Schnitzel. We were keen for a veal one, but I believe we had chicken (I can't be sure, we didn't ask, and chicken tastes like everything). But this place was really good. Very much a local spot, right near Naschmarkt. The schnitzel was very, very good. Big, crispy and juicy. But my... More

We ate at the Cafe Anzengruber on our 4th night in Vienna. We ate at two touristy Italian restaurants in the museum quarter; one was ok and one was not great. We also ate at a very good Serbian restaurant, RestaurantBeograd. Cafe Anzengruber was my favorite. The locals eat there. We were greeted warmly and sat. Then when I was... More

Came with my friend who lives in Vienna. It was full of locals, very fast service and the schnitzel was fantastic! The interior has a nice welcoming feel to it with nice high windows. Avoid the tourist traps and try this place! Highly recommended!

Thought we had stumbled upon on what seemed like a wonderful local restaurant. However, they refused to take our food order as we only wanted to drink water rather than overpriced beer and resultantly kicked us off the table! Very rude service.

Stopped by here with my wife for a beer and coffee. Wow! Felt like we stumbled in to a local bar where "everyone knows your name" except for us, the tourists, however we didn't feel like tourists in this place. Reasonably priced. Didn't have dinner but had dessert, some kind of ice cream ball with apricot in the middle and... More

I think their Gulasch is the best in town. This place is run by the same family for at least 40 years and I believe that there is still remnants of the very first Gulasch they made in their stew 40 years later. Because a Gulasch need to stew and stew and stew... If you're visiting Vienna. This is a... More

This is a nice place quite close to Karlsplatz and TU Wien, but lying a bit off the larger streets so you may have to check on a map how to get there. Been there two times and the place always was full. They have a menu with just a few items, but featuring one of the best Wiener schnitzels... More

Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market.
