You should go to their website to get the schedule of who will be playing. The evening we went the Mojo Blues Band was playing. They were excellent, really excellent. There was a cover of 18€ per person. THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!! The nearest ATM is at the train station, which is a bit of a hike, so bring cash..... More

Having googled jazz bars in the area, Jazzland appeared the most authentic and relaxed so we went on a Friday night. We were thrilled to realise we'd come on a boogie-woogie night with Dana Gillespie singing. The music was world-class... They aren't charging £18 entry for nothin'! The atmosphere felt really special and we enjoyed being in amongst the locals.... More

A must if you enjoy jazz. Don't be deterred by the back alley location of this jazz club. The music, food and service was first class. Make sure you get there early for a seat as it is small but has a great atmosphere. Many locals get there so they must be doing something right.

What an amazing night of traditional and modern jazz in a cozy underground tunnel. The staff were cheerful and great to chat with during the break. Snack plates and drinks at very reasonable prices. AND no cover charge.

This place is easy to find - despite earlier comments. There is a huge sign and the entrance is round the back and down into the very atmospheric cellar with bar. You cannot book a table or tickets in advance - you just have to get there in time! We were there at 1930 and found space in the main... More

There are not many addresses in Vienna where you can listen to live jazz. The place is very unusual: a historic cellar underneath the old city walls, the stage can't be seen from all tables: literally you only can HEAR the music, but don't see the musicians. But: the Jazzland is not a concert hall, it is a restaurant providing... More

None of our party of four (we're in our fifties and our kids are aged 20 and 18) are massive jazz followers, but we all had a wonderful evening at Jazzland. It's a small, cosy basement bar that serves hearty, reasonably- priced food (we arrived about 7.30 to bag a good seat and have a meal before the performance started... More

We arrived too late for the gig on the twenty seventh of December, and were told that they did not take reservations. We arrived on the twenty eighth at seven, when the doors open and there was a queue. When we had paid our 18 euros entrance we were left with some seats in the bar from where we could... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
