Stadionbad is one of my favorite swimming pools in Vienna for the hot months because besides having many different swimming pools it also has a very wide grass area full of trees, where you can get a nice shadow and relax, or even have a small picnic. And because their space is so wide and the pools are also separate... More

We had trouble finding our locker, but then got in a great workout in a stainless steel 50 meter outdoor swimming pool.

Ok, I guess if you have a few kids and the weather is too hot, then it's a good place to go. There is a wave pool (10min every hour), a slide and a big pool. It is, however, overcrowded.

The Stadionbad is one of the largest pool complexes in Vienna and was fairly recently renovated. There are several different pools including kiddie pools, family pools with water slides, a wave pool, diving boards, and sport swimming pools. There is plenty of space to spread out in the shade and also places to buy food and drink. You can take... More

We stayed at the Hilton Danube Waterfront located just a few minutes away from the Stadionbad. The Stadion is also on e of the stops on the U metro line that will take you all the ay into the city. The area is great to do some shopping as there are a few shops all around!

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
