We came here in the winter and stayed at the Benedictine guesthouse on this plaza. It was very local to walking all around. It was very quiet as well with little noise from cars. Lots of horse and carriages instead. Beautiful and old!

Small but enjoyable Christmas market. Impressive mural on the backs of the stalls that was fun to see. If you had limited time I would choose a larger market for more bang for your buck but we enjoyed this one then hopped over to Am...More

We were so disappointed by this Christmas Market in Vienna. Utterly devoid of atmosphere, celebration and entirely lacking in variety. Overpriced also but that is Vienna (relative to Germany). Such a shame.

One of the most historic locations in Vienna. Amazing architecture all around. Very near Hofburg and other famous places.

We just happened to stumble upon this square which is beautiful! Totally free unless you want to enter any of the buildings and is definitely worth a visit. Really gives you a taste of old Viennese architecture.

Beautiful evening at the Easter market. Some wonderful Austrian made gifts to be bought. The handcrafted eggs are a piece of art. Bottle of Austrian wine for 5.50€. Lovely evening in Vienna.

Ran into this accidentally while strolling. Cute Easter market, with stalls selling lovely egg decorations.

Freyung is a medieval square in Vienna that is shaped like a triangle. Haha. A monastery, the Schottenkloster, was built here by monks from Ireland and Scotland and gave the square its historical significance. The square is surround by many examples of fine baroque architecture...More
