The library is a must-see. The amount of knowledge and history in there is inspiring. It is right by many other attractions so swing in and walk through, you won't regret it.

This was my favorite place in Vienna. It is a cathedral to knowledge. It is like something out of a movie. Once you arrive you will get sucked in and love it.

If you love books, this is your holy grail! There are very few places in the world that show so much respect and esteem for written knowledge. One of the leading global collections of historic books.

Great library which is vast and a must see if in Vienna. The architecture is amazing and the sheer number of books is breathtaking. The audio guide is a bit odd as it doesn't seem to quite match up.

Worth the 1 hour that we spent. The audio tour was helpful although some of the descriptions were hart to match with what you are looking at. The grand scale of this library is breathtaking. Appreciated the ability to look into the hidden cubicles.

Although I had previously read some reviews and a pocket guide about this Grand salon, I was astonished when I saw it. I have attached as much pictures as I could, just to share what I saw inside. We have old libraries in Bulgaria, but none has such a beautiful State Hall. It's the height of the ceiling, the books... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
