It would be difficult to explore Vienna without arriving at Karlsplatz on several occasions. It is a large town square and one of the most significant transport hubs in the city. We first came here to catch the U-Bahn out to Schonbrunn but crossed the...More
Karlsplatz's is a pretty square that's home to one of Vienna's most important U-Bahn stops as well as the the beautiful Otto Wagner Pavillon, Karlskirche, a Baroque church, and the amazing Secession building. If you're using the U-Bahn, you'll most likely find yourself passing through...More
during the flight to Vienna we knew of this market at Karlsplatz in relation to the possibility to enjoy oysters. Thanks to Irina! The middle restaurant in French style is better among others (no fish smell and interesting design)
Karlsplatz is an extremely calm and peaceful place where you'll find a lot of couple sitting by the pond. Karlsplatz is the hub of activity in Vienna. Karlsplatz is where the christmas markets are set up. The underground metro line is very close.

Large sprawling train station that connects all of Vienna. Nearby shops and restaurants. Wonderful and lively Christmas market during the holiday season. One of a few markets that consolidates the mulled wine, beer, and liquor kiosks in a few areas of the market. Definitely fun,...More
get the U2 underground to here and you can walk to all the main sites within 20 mins. Nice park in it's own right too.
It is a nice, very spacious square with a nice view spreading from Secession to the Karlskirche. There is too much traffic around it though to call it really pretty.
Just outside the Vienna ring, very accessible by public transit, huge public space adjacent to Karlskirche. It was a very nice Christmas market.
