Ai WeiWei Exhibit & Some Modern Weird Art

Went here to see Ai WeiWei Exhibit. It is just a 5-min walk from the Hauphtbaunhof Oste Station, & right across the street via the D-Tram. Buses do go by there too, but I don't... read more

I attended the Ai Wei Wei exhibit at the 21er Haus museum. The very helpful woman at the admissions desk told me that for 18 Euros I could also gain admittance to the Belvedere which in addition to it's regular exhibits also hosted the second half of the Ai show. The Belvedere is a short, five minute walk away. Everyone on... More

We went for the Ai Wei Wei exhibit. It was absolutely spectacular and well curated. The upstairs area of contemporary art is equally well assembled and a great experience.

It is "classic" contemp :). You need to like the art to understand it. If you are into it, it is a pcae for you. As a bonus there is a great restaurant donstairs. Not a typical museum cafe, but just exremely good a real fusion treasure. I was even more impressed than about the museum. I had a brunch... More

Went here to see Ai WeiWei Exhibit. It is just a 5-min walk from the Hauphtbaunhof Oste Station, & right across the street via the D-Tram. Buses do go by there too, but I don't know the numbers. I just walked since my hotel The Schani was less than a mile away. The Ai WeiWei art was a little different... More

If you have visited the Belvedere and feel like a change of pace in the style of art you are seeing, then walk 5 minutes to the 21er Haus. They do need better signposting as it is not clear which building this is in. I had not got the combined ticket, but when I showed my Belvedere ticket I only... More

If you feel "overwhelmed" for all the classic art you are watching in Vienna, then the 21er Haus could be a good break. There is a combined admission to this museum and the "Winter Palais" of Belveder. The museum showcases modern art in a building that reminds me "le Corbusier" style. The museum holds a temporarty exhibiton of the collection... More

I probably do not know how to appreciate modern or contemporary art; I just like to look at interesting (be it in a good, bad or otherwise provocative way) art. 21er Haus was none of that. I and a friend went because we had free entry through our Neiderösterreich Card and it was a place we had not yet visited.... More

Liked some of the exhibitions. Thought provoking. Was disappointed that there wasn't any furniture especially as it was called the 21 "Haus" - bit misleading. Quite a walk from the Belvedere if it is hot. Signposting en route could be better!

I never understood contemporary art but the 21er Haus' latest collection gave me chills. In a good way. It's quite deserted though, and it was really hard to find the exhibitions for me on the 2nd floor. I can't say much about the quality of the art but it was interesting to see. If you've already come all the way... More
