The Church is a little hidden, but when you come upon it, you will be amazed- very grand! They have a lot of music here, so check the schedule for your visit- you may be able to hear beautiful music in either the stunning church, or in the crypt!

Went in to this church as I had some free time-so lucky I did. There was a choir performance along with an organist that was amazing. No entry fee to the church. It's a very beautiful ornate church just off Graben.

This is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Vienna. During holy week, there are lovely and free concerts in the church.

Tucked in a enclave off Graben is the Church of St Peter’s. This used to be the original Roman encampment in Vienna and a Roman church once stood on this ground. The church had been rebuilt several times through the ages, from Romanesque to medieval times and the current Baroque style is actually inspired by that famous cathedral in Rome... More

Stumbled across this church on my wanderings in Vienna. What a gem ... it is most impressive and is comparable to any church to be found in Rome which has its fair share of spectacular churches. As is the case in Rome, it looked nothing from the outside but its interior is not to be missed.

This church has an incredibly ornate interior that has to be seen to be believed. The church looks quite spartan from the outside, especially compared to the exuberant architectural flourishes and colourful tiled roof of the nearby Stephansdom, but inside it is far more impressive in my opinion, with painted ceiling, elaborate altars and carvings. Visiting during Lent I particularly... More

I've had the chance to attend an organ concert in this beautiful and not very known church close to St Stephen's church. The splendid decorations were shining in the sun rays through the round windows and the music sounded like heaven. A half an hour to remember, in an April afternoon.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
