Being educated by the Jesuits - I always look for the church when visiting a city. Well worth the walk. Organist was practicing when I was there and added to the experience.

Opulent church with an incredible painted ceiling that gives the optical illusion that it is vaulted. Look at it from different angles and you'll see what I mean.

We came along the street wondering if we were in the right place. And then we walked through the door. WOW Words cannot do it justice. You have to see this church. Better than the cathedral by far

The painting in this church are amazing, the layout and the amount of work that must have gone in to its creation. It is well worth a visit and easy to find.

We went for a Sunday mass combined with concert. That morning the mass was conducted with Dvorak's Requieum, and it was a full house. The church itself was beautiful and and sound effect was excellent. The choir composed of amateur and professional singers, the organ,...More

Amazingly ornate church with incredible marble pillars and beautiful wood pews. There is a crypt below the church which you can enter from the main entrance area. The church and crypt are free to enter. Activity time: 10-20 mins.

The church is quite nice, especially the inside. The columns inside are quite unique. The church is located not far from Stephansplatz and worth taking a look if visiting Wien.

In the area of St. Stephens, this church is beautiful on the inside. Check out the ceiling when you walk in. It looks like a dome, but it is just a paint affect. Then walk to the front of the church and look back. Now...More

Vienna has many churches and each has a different atmosphere. We found the Jesuit church to be the most ornate and elaborate. compared to the Dominikanerkirche near by and especially when compared to the church of the Teutonic order in the same part of town.

We stumbled across this church while on the way to somewhere else - certainly glad we did! It's well decorated on the inside, although some will find it a bit gaudy. Inside the cathedral, the artist has painted the inner roof to LOOK like it's...More
