The Vienna Mozart Orchestra plays concerts with internationally renowned...

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra plays concerts with internationally renowned singers and soloists - all in magnificent historical costumes and wigs and creates a special atmosphere in Vienna's largest and most famous Concert halls, like State Opera and Musikverein. In the style of 'musical academies', as in Vienna concerts were known in Mozart's time, the audience enjoy single movements from symphonies and solo concertos, as well as operatic overtures, arias and duets from especially popular and well-known works. The Vienna Mozart Concerts even fulfil the wishes of the Stauss lovers by performing the most impressing pieces by the Strauss Dynasty, such as 'The Blue Danube Waltz' and 'The Radetzy March'. For sure you will enjoy the Vienna Mozart Orchestra and 'the best of Mozart and Strauss'!

In the inner city there are people everywhere selling tickets to the Mozart Concert. The building is beautiful where we attended the concert however we had some children sitting near us who were very bored and were quite disruptive during the concert. I would not recommend taking children unless they are into Opera and classical music in a big way.

Do not go there, it is a trap for tourists. Just plan in advance for a proper philharmonic concert before visiting the city or do something else, there are plenty of other interesting things to do in this city not to lose time on this. Read all other rational comments for more details.

What a wonderful way to pay homage to the country's 2 famous sons! You don't have to be very knowledgeable about classical music to enjoy this concert. The concert hall has been restored to its original state. A selection of pieces by Mozart and Strauss are beautifully rendered and the artistes are dressed in period costumes which makes the atmosphere... More

If you're a big fan of the Opera and have been for a few before, this is not for you. It's clearly meant for first timers like us and others in the audience. The target is tourists and for many, it's worth the experience just to be in the theater. We bought balcony tickets online but were issued 4th-row seats,... More

Wonderful concert with the orchestra in full historical costumes. We had 4th row seats. The performance included aries. It was very engaging with the conductor getting everyone involved during the performance.

I can't agree with the two critics who stated that this concert wasn't worth going. I thought it was fabulous. The excerpts of music and operas were well executed and so beautiful that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. The only reason that I did not give this 5/5 is that we were in the balcony and two things weren't... More

This concert was one of the highlights of my recent vacation. The building in which it is held is so ornate. The musicians were wonderful and the program included such a good mix. There was something for everyone.

We arrived an hour before the performance was to start needing to pick up our tickets. The building is beautiful but the customer service is terrible. There was no one in the lobby to guide guests or answer questions. We thought the "will call" window must be around back so walked in the side door. The people there treated us... More

Dear Sir or Madam, thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear, that you have such a bad impression of the concert. Because of your writing of the employees dressed in cheesy costumes and the date of your stay in Vienna, which is shown at the end, it is very difficult to find the relation to one... More

We also paid for these tickets through the my Vienna website and these where just as expensive. We got here at 7.30, the concert was suppose to start at 20.15, however it was late starting due to major problems with the ticket machines. So it did not start until after 21.10, no one came out to say what the problem... More

We were in Vienna the last 2 weeks of August, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra was not playing, so the Mozart Orchestra seemed like a good alternative. Since the Musikverien was being cleaned, the Mozart Orchestra played at the Opera House. Under normal circumstances, the orchestra alternates between the opera house and Musikverien. Since I just experienced this a few... More

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
