We went on a Fjord tour with Karl Ivar tours and our visit to the beach at Grotfjord was the highlight of our day. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at the shelter and then a long walk on the beach. Just beautiful!

This tiny little village with a lovely beach is about 45 mins drive from Tromsø through lovely landscape. Apart from the beach there is not much to do, but the seclusion and quietness of the area is well worth a half day's trip.

Too bad the weather wasn't working for us. It was snowing heavily and the clouds cover the peaks. Otherwise, I'm sure it affords breathtaking views.

Grøtfjord is one of the most beautiful places I've visited outside Tromsø. A good place to camp and enjoy it's white sandy beaches. I was there last year in July. I will definitely og back.

What a beautiful place... would love to see the northern lights here. It really feels like you're on the edge of Northern Europe.

Nice beach and beautiful view to the mountains. Road to Grotfjord is very narrow but very good to drive. Beware of oncoming traffic.
