Came to this museum to find out more about Norwegian history but it seemed to be a more general world history. Enjoyed the exhibit about Sami history, but without knowing some things already about the Sami people due to items in the news at the...More

Both inside and outside are under renovation so there are lots of areas you cannot visit (including the toilets, although a helpful guard let me in to use them!). A ticket to the Viking Ship Museum gives you free access to this museum (and the...More

Pretty interesting museum with little of everything. It has discoveries from 1000s in Norway, some Egyptian mummies, a really interesting exhibition about American natives and innuits. It is free entrance with viking ship museum ticket.

Small Museum but tidy: a good way to go into the Norwegian history. Very interesting the Christian room, and the steles with ancient runes. You don't have to pay with Oslo Pass (you can visit the National Gallery for free too).

We were here in mid-July when outside temperatures were in the high 80’s F (around 32 C). This was the first museum in Oslo we visited, and it was here we discovered that most museums here don’t have air conditioning. What makes it worse is...More

The visit was quite interesting; provided history on the Norwegians, etc., and also highlighted their Sami population of which I was unaware of before this visit. (Oslo Pass)
