The cathedral is off the Karl Johans Gate, nearer to the central train station side. Architecture wise, it's not to the same scale as some other European cathedrals, but, still, a good place of worship.

This Cathedral may be small but there is so much detail to be seen. I have enjoyed visiting places of worship around the world and Oslo Domkirke is one of the nicest. Be prepared to spend some time sitting and absorbing all this lovely structure has to offer. Outside the Cathedral is a veranda/corridor with places to eat and small... More

It is worth to step in and to admire the cathedral, especially it's ceiling and windows. On friday evenings the cathedral is (was) open the whole night and there was a special atmosphere inside the cathedral late at night.

It's a nice cathedral but nothing special. If you happen to pass the cathedral have a look but I wouldn't visit if you aren't near it. The best part is the beautifully painted ceiling.

Oslo is the capital of Norway, yet its relatively a small city, the Oslo Cathedral is small as well. It compares more to a beautiful church. The windows, woodwork and ceilings are beautiful. Weddings are really big in the summer, yet a couple was here to practice for one this week. To get here I passed the Royal Palace, I... More

It was ok but looks like more a church than a cathedral. As Oslo is a small city, I recommend it especially if you stay several days in Oslo downtown.

This is a busy place. When we stopped, a wedding was just finishing. When the wedding party left another group arrived to practice for a later performance. So we were able to sit in this beautiful church and listen to music. A great way to rest our feet.
