It's just a scenic lake, but conveniently close to Oslo city center. Twenty minutes from downtown Oslo, you can go for a run in fresh forest air. The path around the lake is approx. 3,5 km long and takes 30-45 minutes depending on your pace, much less if you are running. Picnic areas, swimming in summer, feeding ducks and people... More

Reccomend Sognsvann for a nice walk - suitable for a all-year-around activity. It can be very crowded on a sunny day - so make sure you`re not i a hurry. Still.. nice place easy accessible from the tube (t-bane).

We went to this beautiful lake in winter and it was completely frozen, we walked on the ice. There is also a very nice promenade around the lake, were you can walk in the forest with amazing views on the lake.

If you like to take a run or swim in the summer, ice skating in winter or skiing in winter time - Sognsvann is a great staring point. It is easy to access with the tram from the city center. But bring your own food and drink!

Nothing special about this lake, Norway is full of woods and lakes, but it is conveniently located very close to the city and accessible by the metro, so the area also functions as a kind of park to the population of Oslo.

The place is outside the city, but easily reachable with a metro. I visited it in the winter with lots of snow, blue sky and bright sun - it was a winter fairy-tale! I guess it's fabulous in the summer or autumn as well, nevertheless, I would still recommend to visit it, when it is NOT raining or NOT cloudy.

We were fortunate to see the lake completely frozen, which has a greater interest for me. The northern light in winter is different and special

This is a beautifully situated lake. Both in summer and winter. So much to do swim, ice skate, hike, run, walk, ski! Definitely worth the trip if you are in the vicinity. take bus 25 or metro 5!

Taking the metro to Songsvann, you will find this lake. A walk around is a little more than 3 km. The tour can be prolonged.
