This is great part of Oslo to wonder around with the ecclectic shops in Markveien along with the walk up both sides of the Akerselva river. Get up there to avoid the crowds down Aker Brygge.

This neighborhood has a lot of interesting shops, including secondhand stores. It has a good Market Hall, a nice park Ola Reyes Plass, and some funky artsy streets, one with a beautiful glass chandelier suspended over it.

We were lucky to have friends who live in Grünerløkka. This is by far the nicest area in Oslo. There are a lot of cool bars, coffee places and restaurants around. Also some really nice parks.

We used the Rick Steve's book for a self-guided walk through this neighborhood, which we enjoyed. There's a picturesque (and at some parts historic) portion that runs along the river that was idyllic. On a nice day this is a great little area to check...More

Grünerløkka is fabulous - this friendly, historical and laid-back bohemian village district of Oslo which the locals often lovingly refer to as "Løkka" and tag #visitløkka. Discover and shop at independent boutiques, go hunting for vintage clothing and oddities, take a stroll through the quaint...More

Avoid dining in the tourist traps of Aker brygge and Karl Johan. Do your eating and drinking in Grünerløkka area in the heart of east side Oslo. Go for a nice walk along Akerselva, the river between west and east Oslo. Here you have parks,...More

Hello, From the Gardermoen airport the the quickest way into central Oslo is the airport express train. It leaves every 15 minutes, costs NOK 170 one way (yes expensive!) but takes just 23 minutes into the Central Station... More
