Would have been 5 starts, but the bus is expensive

This is not a cheap thing to see. There is a double decker bus that runs from the wharf area to the base of the mountain. We took the public bus, because we had Bergen cards and it was included. You get off at the first hospital stop (south I believe) and walk up. Just ask the bus driver which... More

Access to Ulriken from the center of Bergen is by bus (it's too far out to walk...) but be assured you should do it anyway. We went in the rain, and even enjoyed the bus ride. After the cable car ride, the walking available at the top is almost unlimited. You can take short hikes or longer ones, ranging from... More

We had been on the funicular to Mt Floyen and wondered whether we really needed to go on another mountain - glad we decided to. I would NOT line up at the Tourist Information Office to buy tickets - you can just buy them directly from the guy where the Blue double decker bus stops to take you to Mt... More

We were on a P&O cruise to Norway, with Bergen being our first stop and the cable car trip seemed to be very popular. We wandered into Bergen from the ship and found that you can purchase tickets from the tourist information centre near the old fish market. You then board an old fashioned looking, blue coloured free bus near... More
