probably a really good tour for americans but the absolute focus on George washington and his life etc was really of no interest to me. I did expect it to be more about the general history etc and less about George. Guides were really nice people.

George Washington went to Barbados as a 19 year old accompanying his older brother who was suffering from TB. According to the info nation GW had no military training or interest. He meets and spends time in the powerful military garrison....his brother dies, he becomes head of the house and a revolution ensues. Cool theory and site. Also don't wills... More

Visited here with my family. Price was reasonable, tour guide well informed, and staff very friendly. Tour guide was a volunteer who didn't harass for tips. They were kind enough to call for a cab after our tour.

Small but fascinating, introductory film explains the history and then a tour of the ground floor of the house. A splendid tea room serving proper English tea and cake on site just added to the charm. Take you National Trust cards for a discounted entry price.

While in Barbados you need to explore the culture as well as the beaches. Dinner with George, (which takes place certain months of the year) is a night out that you will be thrilled that you signed up for. The Dinner Theatre has been taking place for 4 years and they have just celebrated their 50th dinner. George Washington spent... More

We happened upon this after having breakfast at the small cafe located at the entrance. We toured the tunnels and then toured the house where he and his brother once stayed. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Very informative as our tour guide walked us through. We went on a Thursday which at noon you can walk over to... More

I wish my timing was better, but as often happens when you don't follow a plan you sometimes miss things. What I missed was the Dinner with George. I could not find it on any website (including now as I write this). The guide on our tour was knowledgeable and personable. Our timing made us the last tour of the... More

Very interesting and engaging guides, be prepared for a walk, comfortable shoes a must! The tunnels are fascinating, as well as the information. Finally found the military cemetery, will return in daytime for a better view. The George Washington historians make this tour a gem.
