Normally I'm used to boring art galleries but this was anything but. Happy to find it was open on a sunday; the permanent collection was interesting and not stale with some more contemporary works. The exhibition was based on light and was really fun, colourful and interactive and all for free!

The Towner continually has exciting exhibitions, as well as the Ravilious Room. The spaces are large, with great views over Devonshire Park

This is a very nice gallery, the whole architecture is beautiful with the wood and concrete ect: I came here to see the 'A certain kind of light' exhibition and it didn't disappoint. The exhibit was very pretty and quite interesting - what did disappoint was the gallery didn't offer anything else remotely interesting besides a room full of mirrors... More

A very interesting selection of styles made this gallery a pleasure to spend a wet day in. The staff were friendly and informative and the cafe is worth a visit too.

Good permanent collection and Temporary Exhibitions - but ground floor exhibition space often closed - maybe we're just unlucky at our visit times. No entry fees. Stairs can be difficult but there is a lift. Average cafe.

I had a lovely time here. Great art. Very interesting. And the staff are friendly and very helpful always there if you need a story behind the art. And there's a lovely coffee shop there too. It's a real feel good place.

We spent a very pleasant couple of hours in the Towner Art Gallery looking at their 'A certain kind of light' exhibition, and then went on to visit the Ravilious Room which contains some delightful examples of his work. The art gallery is a modern well appointed building and has a cafe, which we didn't use. It was school half... More

Highly recommend a visit to this small gallery. They put on activities for kids too. Two gallery spaces over 2 levels and entrance is fired although a donation is suggested.
