- Ruth D2 contributionsHeritage WalkWe joined today's Heritage walk and were not disappointed. The guide was informative, interesting and easy to listen to. The pace was very suitable and clearly met with current health and safety requirements. We would highly recommend.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten March 23, 2023
- Steve BuckleyLondon, United Kingdom6,327 contributionsMost User-Friendly and InformativeMy wife and myself are currently holidaying in Llandudno staying at the excellent Dunoon Hotel (Review to follow) and earlier today we visited the Llandudno Mueum which, conveniently, is across the road from our Hotel. Seniors Entrance fee is £5 per person and the staff are not only keen to ensure visitors are made to feel welcome but more than happy to answer any local queries. The compact.Museum is in several, well presented sections on several floors. The first of which is about the history of the town and a good way to start one’s visit is to watch the introductory film about the oldest Hotels. After that enjoy all the artefacts which cover the local geology and towns many links with the two World Wars. All in all a most enjoyable and informative experience - one which I should encourage local residents and visitors alike to replicate.Visited July 2023Written July 24, 2023
- Peter LLlandudno, United Kingdom52 contributionsA much impressed return visitor after a 16 long yearsThe last time i visited this well presented museum was as long ago as 2007, its still housed in the same building, on Gloddaeth Ave, but what a transformation, from the somewhat quaint and outdated attraction. I believe the museum has received substantial funding from the National Lottery fund, and its been very well spent. One section of the museum that i found the most interesting and informative, is their interpretation on the towns archaeological past, with Blodwen, the 4500 yr old woman, found on the Little Orme, in pride of place. There is much to see, with well presented information on the history of the resort, from its beginnings in the 1840s, as well as what happened here during the last war. One aspect that i was very pleased to make use of , was their lift, giving access to all floors, i was a fair bit younger during my last visit, but when your a bit infirm, and discover the attraction is not catered for those with a disability, its pleasing to see the museum is catering for everyone. When you leave the museum, there was a very well stocked gift shop, selling locally made gifts, many of which cannot be bought anywhere else. The book section, is very good, and concentrates mainly on Welsh related subjects, which i suppose is to be commended, as we are in Wales, and one does not want to see books that one can purchase back home. Even though there is a reasonable entry fee to this attraction, i was told the museum receives no funding or help from either the council or Welsh Gov, so the fact they have provided a high quality visitor experience, speaks highly of their continued work to showcase llandudno, past and present. It was more than a pleasant surprise, to make a return visit, and seeing that the museum is still operating, and going out of their way to showcase Llandudno to the holiday visitor. It was the best £5 ive spent in many a year, its just a shame i do not live nearer, as i would have loved to visit some time ago. .Visited July 2023Written July 29, 2023
- sunshinelover978Wrexham, United Kingdom373 contributionsUnexpected gemDiscovered when walking past, and delighted I went in. Museum displays themed and well organised, with easy to read interpretation panels. Really explains the long and varied history of the area which is now modern Llandudno, in a most interesting and easy to understand manner. Informative receptionist provided a good introduction to the museum. Plus nice shop!Visited August 2023Written August 21, 2023
- Dave MatherDarley Dale, United Kingdom26 contributionsWorth a visitWe went to Llandudno and surprise surprise it was raining :)), so we decided to visit this Great little Museum. The displays were good and gave you a good overall flavour of Llandudno and the people who live there's past. Staff were friendly and well informed.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten March 16, 2024

A lot more could be done in this museum, it feels very out of date and there wasn't much to look at. Still a good place if its raining. There is a £2.50 entrance which is reasonable.

Ticket price included a guided walking tour of Llandudno by the delightful and knowledgable Élan. An hour walk giving a potted history of the area through its building was an unexpected bonus to our visit to the museum. Displays were well explained. A lovely way to occupy a couple of hours.

This charming little Museum is certainly a step back to the past and Unfortunately like many older small town museums needs support to survive. it suffers from a lack of funds many of the displays could do with some updating.
This said it does have the bones of a 4700 years old woman..Blodwyn,found on the Little Orne. A display of ww2 memorabilia is comprehensive, and there are a number of charming paintings, part of the Chandon collection. Pop in when passing to find out the history of Llandudno from Roman times, and help support the acquisition of new materials by donations, it' right near the Queen of Hearts on the Alice trail. Check out the website as well.reasonable entrance fee

Its nice to make a little time to discover the towns past, with many displays and early photographs giving an insight to the towns beginings. Worth a look.

A day in Llandudno usually means brilliant sunshine, or heaving with rain. We got the wet day, and as we were there for the transport show and could not escape, we went for a walk round. The museum was tempting, not the sort of thing I would usually do. Very glad we went in. Quite a fascinating place, and some of the history of the town is very good.
There is a small admission fee, which seems quite fair for the exhibits on show.
All in all well worth a visit.

Wheelchair accessible on the ground floor only. Not a lot to see.
Museum has accessible toilets.
Unless you have a deep interest in the local history, I'd give this a miss.

Went there today to see Blodwen, The Lady of Little Orme. Was pleasantly surprised, as well as the exhibit that had drawn me to the museum there was other fascinating stuff too.
The staff were so helpful and attentive and the admission charge makes it excellent value for money.
