Probably the most badly advertised and most-closed attraction in the town of Llandudno. You can't miss the building but for most visitors it's purpose will remain a mystery, which is a shame, as the view from a camera obscura can be fascinating. Perhaps in the this world of smartphones and tablets, the charm of this early optical viewer has fadedm... More

We were looking forward to this and it was shut. Not unusual it seems.pity as it looks like it would be an interesting experience. If you decide to go, try to check first. Also steep hill with pavements that don't have 'dropped kerbs' so not good for disabled. Alll in all a disappointment.

my grandfather paid for the erecton of this camera obscura many years ago. It burnt down and was rebuilt subsequently. It was closed when we visited but I have seen it before, amazing experience.

I've visited Llandudno five times a year or so for the last four decades. Never seen this open which is a pity as I'd love to see it work. Why not put a sign in happy valley or on the pier when it's open?

Walked up the hill to this attraction just behind North Parade sea front. Views are incredible. I walked up here even though I have an artificial hip and have suffered two severe heart attacks in recent years.

Have a look at Llandudno in this small shed like building on the orme, how it works well the person or the operator will explain it all to you the scenes you see are remarkable, try to spot where you are staying but be warned it is dark inside and not much room so only a few are let in... More

Using what was advanced lens technology in 1859, enjoy the views about. Well worth a visit. "Lo, here a camera obscura is presented to thy view. . . if thou art perfectly at leisure for such trivial amusements, walk in and view the wonders of my enchanted garden." Erasmus Darwin
