Pub with a juke box!

I guess it's difficult to judge a pub on a quiet Monday lunchtime. The staff are friendly enough and the drinks are reasonably priced. I loved that it has a jukebox, albeit digital. There is a pool table in the main bar. I have heard it gets lively on weekends with live music. To me it looks an OK drinks... More

The staff are friendly and, look after their regular customers as if they were family. Visitors are treated like kings and welcomed with open arms. This is a lively place to drink in the evening with, several events arranged. Jam night, where local bands play and perform for free showcasing there talent. Acoustic night speaks for itself and, the regular... More

Went in the Rat to watch Ska'd for life, they were awsome! had an amazing evening. The place was packed yet again, people were dancing and enjoying themselves only trouble was trying to get to the bar for a drink - but the staff were friendly and fast. The Landlord was having a chat with us before the main event... More

Had a lovely night with my girlies last week, we were out for a works doo and stoped off on our round of pub golf. After a few too many we ended up at the Rat and the place has changed from when we were there last! They had an open mic night on, we sat outside under beside the... More

Was in the RAT for their big bank holiday weekender, WOW! what a line up, £10 ticket entry was well worth it. The bands that were there? how did a little venue like the rat pull it off? I have no idea. Stand by for the next big weekender!

This is a general community pub with live music and karaoke on offer a few nights a week, as well as a poker night. The staff are good and friendly and look after their customers. Well worth a visit when there's music on as the proprietor has been doing a fine job at getting good bands and artists in to... More

The team there have really set out to make it the new Ipswich music venue and now the railway is long gone it looks like the place to visit!! I'm in a band myself and within seconds of mentioning it... More

Just popped in for a quick drink - and was a great place - staff very friendly. There was a 'birthday drink' crowd there and a wide mixture of folk. Pub dog was also a bonus!

Dreadful place. I am not gay but had the same impression of this awful place as 'Simon B'. As for taking lunch there, not unless you enjoy eating while listening to various gynecological details of the sex change operations of the barman's aquaintances. Avoid at all costs.
