We live nearby and incorporate a visit sometimes when out for a stroll in the countryside. It is a shame that the park closes early in the evening preventing visits after work

Even if you're not into art this is still a lovely place for a walk. The sculptures just add to the natural beauty of the park. Watch out for those long horned cattle!

A great picnic location, with lakeside walks. Good for families with plenty of mowed grassy areas. No entertainment other than the sculptures, but nice peaceful setting to while away a couple of hours on a sunny day. No entry charge, but car park charged as...More

How do you get to the park if you don't have a car?. Is it possible.

Hi, Metro bus service 96 between Barnsley & Wakefield goes into the Sculpture Park near the visitor centre. There's a bus every hour or so in each direction.
I am hoping to see ALL the sculptures (which means that I plan to walk around the entire grounds, which look quite large on the map). Have any of you done that? How long would it take to see all the outdoor sculptures.

Allow plenty of time - it is worth it. I walked for just over an hour and at the same time my husband looked at the excellent indoor galleries. We both said we could have spent a little longer.
