Gem of a place for kids
May 2021 • Friends
Great place, kids love it
Take a picnic as you’ll be here a while, if your kids like the water.
It’s our local go to place, does her busy on hot days

Spiral of Decay
Jun. 2021
Sadly this once splendid park is in the spiral of decay, there is litter in abundance , broken glass everywhere , dog mess e.t.c . lake is full of scum and pollution lots of debris floating on the surface . The locals and visitors are not bothered about maintaining this once lovely area. Typical humans , selfish and no respect. The council should impose charges and invest the revenue in badly needed improvements. Otherwise it will soon be a slum visited only by undesirables.

EXCELLENT!
Jun. 2021 • Family
Excellent place for couples and families, two small 'beach' areas, a park area and plenty of open grassy areas to sit and relax. Cleanliness of the park itself was above average, plenty of bin etc. The cafe was nice, and there was a kiosk too. The best thing about this place is - parking and entrance was FREE!! Fantastic place to go if you are short of money!! Highly recommended!!

Been today, it's fairly busy, but the car park is horrible, really dusty had to take the car to the wash on way home. The food from the cafe bar was horrible cold hot dogs. With no extras like onions. The bread stale, it cost 5.00 for 2 of them for the children. It cost 14.94 for 3 sand buckets and spades sets ! Not that expensive on the coast the toilets are disgusting with no lock one broken down in ladies no hot water for hand washing and one sink taps broken ( not good with covid. No sanitary bin in the loo , so used sanitary supplies on the floor, and dirty tissue, loo was filthy. The whole park area feels scruffy. The children play area is still not open so nothing for children to do if you dont want the kids in the dirty water! Which is disgusting

Our visit today to Hemsworth.

We visited the cafe and was served by a very friendly lady! The sausage rolls had just been taken out of the oven! They were lovely. She also recommended the salted caramel cheese cake! It was amazing. We will be definitely going back!!

Park looked amazing, the people there were not.
Aug. 2020 • Family
Park itself looked lovely and although we expected it to be busy it was ridiculous. Queue for the ice cream and drinks was all the way round the building, people everywhere without a care in the world for anyone else.
We just got back in the car. Council have not enforced any social distancing rules & although I’m not usually fussed for other people being around me this was just a breeding ground for all the chavvy looking people there.

Ok on a hot day

Good for kids my daughter and my friends children enjoyed it. Spent a few hours there which was enough, lots of “men” walking round with cans of cheap lager.

Litter!
Jul. 2020 • Family
This place could be so great, it’s really naturally beautiful and a lovely environment for children to play if it weren’t for all the rubbish everywhere. We arrived on a Sunday morning at 9.30 as soon as it opened and the sand was covered in plastic lids and old wet wipes, which is not great when you have a 1 year old that put everything in their mouth! There was also dog poo all over the grass. It’s such a shame as it really is a beautiful place.
