Good free parking, ok for motorbikes. Lovely landscape gardens with interesting buildings, wooded walks and plenty of places to sit. Colourful, pretty gardens near the house with fantastic views and a watermill. Good shop, plant sales area and very good cafe for cake, sandwiches and...More

We started with a great long walk exploring the extensive grounds, then came the gardens which were good, bit late in the year but we could see the great planting which must have been stunning in season. The house was good too , with photo...More

Hestercombe House and gardens are close to Taunton, the history of the place is fairly complicated, but the last ‘owners’ made the house the HQ for Somerset Fire Brigade and as it was no longer a loved family home, the inside is rather gaunt and...More

Formal gardens with scented roses, a wonderful walk through woods with a cascade, ducks on the fish ponds, follies and birdsong, a great café for coffee, tea, or lunch - and all just a couple of miles from Taunton - what more could you ask.

Visited as Gertrude Jekyll garden. Gardens were lovely. Worth a visit. But for me was not as much a wow factor as I expected.

Just attended my daughter's wedding at this fabulous venue. The ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception were all perfectly organised and ran so smoothly. The food & service was excellent and plentiful. First class main meal and really tasty buffet for the evening event. Thoroughly recommended.

We went here after quite a long time as our grandchildren were taking part in an activity. It is a nice walk, regrettably with little else. Cafe was particularly disappointing. Wouldn't rush to go again
