The house is in a lovely setting and a visit, whilst a tad expensive, is recommended. The interior is ornate and plenty of staff on hand to answer questions. The food in the Orangery was tasty and well served. Disappointed we were not allowed into...More

I visited the Orangery with a group of friends for a cream tea celebration of a 70th birthday yesterday. Rather than put all 11 of us on a long table where it could have been difficult to converse, they had managed to find a group...More

We had a smashing time at Burghley. We wandered round the house and were very impressed with the guides in each room. They were very knowledgable and more than happy to chat with us and answer any questions we had. This may have been made...More

An amazing house, but too modernised, Panelling painted over in creamy colour, light carpets etc which rather t looses the original feeling of the Elizabethan house

Excellent food fair. I wasn't feeling well (nothing to do with the food) and the staff were very helpful.

We had a day at Burghley just before Easter visiting the House and Gardens as well as the Park. The House is full of history with helpful and knowledgeable room guides. The sculpture garden is also well worth a visit.

We arrived at 3pm. As it was late in the day, I asked if we would have time to view the house and gardens before 5pm and was told we would. The receptionist directed us to go upstairs first to watch a film, but luckily...More

This is said to be the finest example of a great Elizabethan home. Guided tours are available from Easter onwards although rather pricey - over £15 per head when we last visited. However, the visitor is rewarded with some of the finest restored interiors anywhere

I’ve down rated this because it was expensive to go in £15 and only a small part of the house was on show. Having been to Blenheim, where the family live there too, there was lots to see but not here. We went on good...More
