Clifton Park was originally the private ground of Clifton House, and opened as a public park in 1891 with house opening as a museum in 1893. The park is now the home to one of the region's biggest and best play areas, with the Water Splash, toddler zone, sand play, and plenty for more adventurous kids including a giant tower slide and BMX/Skate plaza. The Museum offers a flavour of how the Walkers used to live as well as allowing you to discover the fascinating history of the Rotherham Borough. The park and museum are both free to visit. You can also participate in a wide range of activities throughout the year, some of which are chargeable. Whilst visiting make time to visit the Granary Cafe for a light lunch or a slice of cake and a refreshing drink. There is also a gift shop to buy your souvenirs.

wonderful water paddling pool - down side is that there are few toilets.... Still good to go! The theme park is quite cheap and very friendly - parking is not good at the Park - so get there early or get a taxi.

Not really worth going, i suppose if it was raining and you wanted to keep dry for half an hour while it stopped you could go here (free admission).

Took a trip with my nephew, nice experience with quite a bit to see. The staff were really friendly and welcoming , and the place had really good wheelchair access.

Good to hear that you still enjoy visiting the museum. So many people remember coming as a child and seeing Nelson and now bring their children and grandchildren. Nelson has been here at the museum for just over 70 years, he is still a firm favourite with people of all ages. More

Always a lovely family outing the summer. You can take a nice picnic to sit on the grass and enjoy the sun. Kids always enjoy the parks and the ride attractions. Haven't been in the museum for years so cant comment on this. Also always a ice cream man. ( In summer )

I brought my granddaughter to the museum as it offers lots for all ages and is free! We spent two hours there, where she played in the lion room, colouring, playing with the toys and being fascinated by the animal noise buttons. We spent some time upstairs where there is a room dedicated to children which brought back memories of... More
