About
Colchester Arts Centre - the little church with the big attitude deep in the heart of Essex. Well that's how we describe it anyway. It sort of works, it at least gives a flavour of what we're about. Because just how do you describe a venue that can...more

This was our first visit to the Arts Centre. We parked at a local car park a short walk away. The auditorium had a great atmosphere: Frank Williams (The Vicar from "Dad's Army") was being interviewed. He was very interesting and funny. The sound amplification...More

I have heard some great musicians here and it is a good location for music. Nine below zero were excellent and they do choose acts to suit many tastes. Well managed.

It is not often I cross over from my native Suffolk into the neighbouring county unless I am travelling through and I have not been into Colchester in over 30 years. Tonight I attended my brothers wedding reception at the Arts Centre and was pleased...More

Went here for a music event. Amazing atmosphere with lovely helpful ushers. No allocated seating, so get in early for best seats. Very close to St Mary's car park.

I have been to the Arts Centre on numerous occasions, although it is not a upmarket venue, what is offered is normally very good. Not all the staff are professionals, saying that they are so happy and willing it makes the night go well.

Arts Centre Beerfest is superb for the experienced drinker of proper beer and the novice in a safe and controlled environment with character. And the near neighbours don’t object to the disturbance even when we relax on their graves.

Go to the Arts centre as often as I can ... Everything from Gigs to the farmers market ... always a friendly welcome and reasonably priced gigs shows ... highly recommended

I have attended countless events at the Arts Centre, over the course of 20 years or more. Mostly jazz and folk music gigs, comedy shows, but also variety shows, films, children's shows, markets, and even a wake. All the bands praise the warm atmosphere, the...More

Over the years I've visited the arts centre for various gigs, music nights, stand up comedy etc. On the nights I have been it is dark and dingy - just like all of the best venues! The ticket prices are very reasonable, as are drinks,...More
