The main cathedral is free to visit but you can make a donation. The stained glass and decorated ceilings were beautiful.

I went into this Cathedral because of my graduation ceremony having taken place there in Dec 2017. I was impressed by the atmosphere, beautiful high ceilings, colorful decorations and murals which were absolutely breathtaking. A beautiful place to worship.

We were greeted upon entry by members of the church with a leaflet of what's good to see in there. Beautiful all around, everywhere you looked. Was a great visit.

Carlisle cathedral is full of history and inside is a well kept place of worship and also a nice tourist venue. Its in the city centre so you can walk from there and close by to shops and local amenities. Well worth a visit
